QiCYCLE EUNI ES808
Today we present a gadget a little different, but that is drawing the attention of the technological public. It is the QiCYCLE EUNI ES808, an electric scooter that comes from the hand of the Asian giant Xiaomi. However, it should be noted that Xiaomi is only an investor in the project, although most of the sales platforms add Xiaomi’s name to the article to attract attention.
This scooter, with a top speed of 20km / h and 25km autonomy, is presented as an economic alternative to the popular Xiaomi M365, but with a much lower price, being able to be acquired for just over 200 euros. In addition, this speed limitation makes it suitable for circulation in many cities where the use of this device is regulated. In any case, we strongly recommend that you take a look at the municipal ordinance of your town hall, to ensure if there are traffic restrictions for these vehicles.
This scooter is specially designed for those who want to move comfortably through the city to make small journeys, without having to worry about parking, and with much lower costs than those of a car or a motorcycle.
The QiCYCLE EUNI ES808 is made of 6061 aluminum, achieving an assembly whose weight is at 13.2 kg, supporting a maximum load of 100kg. One of the most interesting features of this model is the incorporation of two small wheels in the front of the scooter’s chassis, which will allow us to take it as a trolley when folded, thus facilitating its transport when we are not using it. On the other hand, these two wheels also serve as a support to keep the scooter standing when we are not using it, just by slightly bending the handlebar.
The handlebar is precisely one of the most outstanding additions of this product since it incorporates a small screen that will provide useful information such as the current speed or the level of battery charge, without the need to use the Ninebot mobile application. However, we can consult these and other data in the application. In addition, on the handlebar, we will find the buttons on and off, the light switch, and also the bell.
This scooter is powered by a 250W engine, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 20km / h, and face slopes of up to 12º, so it should be enough for moderate use in urban areas. The QiCYCLE EUNI ES808 has a rear drum brake, which can be operated through the handlebar. In addition, it has front and rear light, to give us greater visibility.
As far as tires are concerned, the QiCYCLE EUNI ES808 is equipped with 2 8-inch wheels, slightly smaller than those of the M365. The front wheel is inflatable, while the rear is solid, made of non-slip rubber. Thus, the manufacturer wanted to achieve a good balance between comfort and durability.
Since it is a device designed for outdoor use, a remarkable fact is that it has IPX5 protection, so it is suitable for use in the rain. Even so, it is not advisable to go over puddles.
My opinion when using it
Speed: as indicated by the specifications, it takes up to 20km / h. That is the maximum that marks the display. If you go downhill you take some more km of speed. You can go can go up to 12% of the capacity on hills. The reality is that it goes slower when you are going up and you have to push yourself, which does not mean that you will not be able to climb hills since the battery does its function.
Brakes: It has a rear disc brake. The braking is quite good and effective. The brake lever goes smooth.
Damping: it’s hard. It is made of city and asphalt. The rear wheel is solid and the front is inflatable. Beware of the bottom of the platform where you go that is the same where the battery is housed.
Folding: It is easily foldable. It has a large flange in the part of the union of the handlebar with the mounting platform. Pulling the tab unlocks the grip to be able to unfold it. To fold it you must pull a bit of the handlebar forward and pull the tab. If you do not throw a bit of the bar, it will not unlock.
Weight: The 13kg are noticed especially in transportation. Yes, it has the two wheels that come out when the skate is folded, but I do not see it very comfortable rolling it, I prefer to take it by hand.
As with all native Chinese products, all instructions are in Chinese. You can use the Google translator with the camera. In my case, I am a newbie in the electric scooter theme, and in the impetus to put the scooter to work I did not see that there were instructions in Chinese, I pressed the accelerator a couple of times and seeing that it did not move I thought I had bought a defective scooter, was I dumb? yes. You have to press a couple of times the pedal to activate the accelerator. It is logical as a security measure, I mention this so that this does not happen to anyone.
In my case, the battery is having an erratic behavior. The battery charges well, in about three hours. But since a week ago the battery lasted about 4 kilometers. Yesterday I left the parking with 4 load lines. I arrived at the company with the low battery alert. I keep the skate inside the company. In the afternoon when I returned to the parking and start the skate, I returned to have the 4 stripes and arrive safely at my car. the battery is something that should be taken into account when buying this scooter because it can be one of the weak points of this scooter.
